Guided Recruit helps your family gather the right information, organize your athlete's materials, and build a personal recruiting website, with clear next steps as they grow.
Guided setup and your athlete's website: $500. Add a highlight reel for $250.
No payment today, and you don't pay the balance unless you love the preview. John reads every inquiry and replies himself. Soccer first; other sports as our checklists are reviewed.
A finished page does a specific job for a family, and it is why the collecting is worth doing.
It complements, and does not replace, a college's own questionnaire or preferred platform. We never claim a page by itself produces offers or replies.
Physician by training, soccer parent, founder of McKillop Creative in Greenville, SC. I built the first two recruiting pages by hand, for my daughter and for a friend's daughter, and I finish and launch every page personally.
More about John and what's real so far →Not because they aren't trying. Because nobody handed them the list, the film lives in three accounts they can't open, and every article assumes a different grade and a different sport.
“What do we even need?”
Which facts a coach reads first, which film matters, what a sophomore should collect versus a senior. You get a prioritized list with a reason for each item.
“Where is any of it?”
Film sits in a coach's Hudl, a club's Veo, a phone. We show the authorized way to get each piece and keep it in one workspace.
“What comes next?”
A page is a start, not the end. Stage-based goals through high school, two check-ins a year, and a record you keep adding to.
Each step says what your family does and what we do, so nobody waits on nobody.
A short intake by sport, position, grad year and readiness produces a prioritized checklist with an owner and a reason for every item.
Manageable requests with examples: which three clips, how to export them, what to ask the coach, in the words to use.
One athlete record and a visible checklist. Completed, missing, and who is waiting on whom, all in one place.
A personal-domain website, help completing supported athlete profiles, and an optional highlight reel from your selected clips.
Scheduled check-ins, update rounds, and stage goals so the record grows as the athlete does. No scramble senior year.
Pick a sport and a stage. This is a scripted example of how the plan changes, not your account. The real checklist is built from your intake and your athlete's actual materials.
Owners: Parent Athlete Coach Guided Recruit. Dashed boxes are waiting on someone else; the plan says who.
Scroll the sample. It is built in the same layout as our finished pages, with a made-up athlete and placeholder photos so that no real student's information is on a marketing page.
The first two real pages were built by hand for a Greenville family and for John's own daughter. Both are private at the families' request, and we will only ever show a real athlete with written permission and the family's review of the final treatment.
Scout is the guide inside Guided Recruit. It explains what a coach needs, shows how to get a missing item, and proposes facts you confirm with a tap. Below is a scripted example of a real kind of exchange.
Scout's guided intake is live today: try it with your own athlete's facts, free, no account, and see a private draft page build as you go. Answers from a reviewed knowledge library are Coming later.
Each item is labeled with how it's delivered today. We would rather tell you John does something by hand than imply software does it.
Scout asks only what's useful now, by sport, position and grad year, and turns what you paste into facts you confirm.
A shared folder and a checklist set up for your family, with instructions delivered at the step where you need them.
Built from your confirmed record in a proven layout, finished and reviewed by John, launched on a standard domain in your family's name.
Setup or completion of supported platforms such as Hudl and Veo, where your athlete is eligible. Coach-controlled access is coordinated, not bypassed.
2 structured progress reviews and 2 assisted update rounds in the included year, plus stage-based planning prompts.
Up to 20 family-selected clips, athlete identified at the start of each, opening and closing cards, 1 revision round. $250 with any package.
Start with Guided Recruiting Launch at $500. Add the reel for $250. Families who want the whole high-school arc planned can choose three years at once.

Service terms start at website launch, not at first login, and end on an explicit date; allowances are per service year and don't roll over. A standard domain is included within a stated registration allowance; premium domains cost extra with your approval. Third-party platform subscriptions, filming, and searching full games for plays are not included; the reel is cut from clips your family selects. Renewal is explicit, never automatic. Capacity is about 5 finished pages a week while we measure the real pace, so a few families at a time. Guided Recruit prepares and presents materials; it does not guarantee admission, scholarships, coach responses, recruitment or roster placement, and it does not evaluate an athlete's competitive level.
5 qualifying referrals can cover your $500 setup entirely.
Each distinct new athlete who buys a full-price individual package earns the referring family $100, applied to their package balance or refunded against what they paid, up to $500 across the whole term of their package.
Share templates always say the referring family earns a reward. Full terms are published before launch.
A defined preparation process for the athletes who are serious about playing in college, finished materials by a shared deadline, and less administrative load on your coaches. Not a scholarship promise, and never presented as one.
Based in Greenville, South Carolina. In person across the Upstate, and by video call across the Carolinas and Georgia. The process travels; the deliverable is a link.
Soccer first. Basketball, baseball and softball, volleyball, football and lacrosse as position checklists are reviewed by people who know each sport.
I'm a Greenville-based physician who stepped back from medicine to raise four kids, and to build. Writing a novel, standing up my own online store, launching client websites and wiring the software behind them turned into McKillop Creative. Guided Recruit began as the recruiting page I built for my own daughter, then the one I built for a friend's daughter, and the questions every other parent on the sideline asked about them.
Medicine made me a systems thinker: understand the whole process, find where it breaks, fix it carefully. Recruiting preparation breaks in the same places for every family, so that is what this service is organized around. Every page ends with me: I read the record, fix what a machine gets wrong, and launch something a coach can read on a phone.
A graduate of Davidson College and the Medical University of South Carolina, I'm also a novelist, a portrait artist, and co-founder of the Medicinal Whiskey Charity, a Greenville nonprofit that has helped raise about two million dollars for pediatric care. A real neighbor, not an agency.
“John took something that felt impossibly technical and made it completely effortless. He understood exactly what I needed and delivered it at a price I couldn't believe.”
No. An early-stage athlete can open an account with no film. You get the collection plan and the “mark the moment” habit so the right clips exist by the time they matter. A reel is only cut from clips your family selects.
Keep it. Your page links to the profiles a coach already uses, and we help set up or complete up to 2 supported profiles where your athlete is eligible. Access is usually controlled by a coach or club admin; we draft the request and coordinate it. We never bypass it.
A few focused hours: answering the intake, gathering a photo, film links, the facts you want shown, and the athlete writing their story. Our job is to make those hours ordered and specific.
Your family does, with position-specific guidance on what to look for. We cut the clips you select. Searching full games to find plays is a different service and not included.
Yes. Public, gated with a code, or private, decided field by field, and enforced on the server, not just hidden on the page. Many families start gated and open the page when they begin outreach.
The page can launch while a non-critical profile is still pending. The checklist shows who is waiting on whom, so a coach's delay never looks like our production time.
Guided intake, prioritized checklist, collection instructions and workspace, the personal-domain website finished by John, setup of up to 2 supported profiles, and 12 months of guidance, website and standard domain service with 2 check-ins and 2 update rounds. The reel is $250 more.
No monthly subscription. After the included year you can choose the Annual Recruiting Update at $299 a year, or Basic Website Continuity at $99 a year to keep the site live with maintenance only. Renewal is explicit, with reminders, never automatic.
Your family. A standard domain is registered in your name within a stated allowance, and it's transferable. The content is yours to export.
The term runs to its stated end date. After that the site can continue on Basic Website Continuity, or you take an export of your content and the domain stays yours. Retention, deletion and refund terms are in the written service terms provided before payment.
No. Hudl, Veo, recruiting-platform subscriptions, filming, and premium domains are third-party costs. We tell you which ones matter for your sport and which you can skip.
Yes. Updates are bundled into assisted rounds: you send the changes, you see a before-and-after, you approve, we publish and keep a rollback. Fixing our own mistakes never uses one of your rounds.
You see it first. Every page goes to the family as a private preview, with a revision round before anything launches. The balance is due only after you approve it; if you don't love it, you don't pay the balance. The written terms you receive before any payment spell out how the $99 to start is handled.
No, and anyone who says otherwise is selling something else. We prepare and present your athlete's materials well. Admission, scholarships, coach responses and roster spots are decided by coaches and colleges. We also never rate an athlete's level.
$100 per qualifying new athlete, up to $500 across your package term, eligible after full payment and 30 days after the referred page goes live. Details are in the referral section above; final terms are published before launch.
Only what a recruiting page shows: name, class year, school and club, film, stats, honors, academics as you choose to show them, and a parent contact. Never a home address, transcript, government ID, eligibility number or medical information. The account belongs to the parent; the athlete approves their own story. One family's record is never visible to another.
No. Scout is an AI guide inside the service, built to explain, to help you collect, and to point to the next step, with sources. It isn't a coach, it doesn't evaluate players, and it never publishes anything. A person, John, reviews and launches every page.
No payment today. Say who they are and where you are in the process; John replies personally with whether it's a fit, what to collect first, and the next step. Schools and clubs: ask for a pilot conversation the same way.
